BJ's pizza. A trashy beer and wine bar on 28 east, pitchers and pints. If you head into Alexandria, Finnegan's wake is where hipsters hang out, at least used to? The bayview yacht club will have a mix of a crown most nights. It's all trashy, though, so beware. Also, someone recommended the mirror room, I went once a while back, want half bad.

Vlod, give more details. Do you like to work out? What will be doing while there? Where are you staying? Like outdoors? CenLA is actually Nivarna for outdoor enthusiasts. Lots of choices for fishing, boating, etc. We were busy doing something outside every weekend when I was growing up. Either fishing, tubing, skiing, swimming, camping, whatever. You could go to Kincaid or Indian Creek. Lake Buhlow in Pineville.
And for a real good time, hit up church at the POA Sunday morning.

I'd say head on over to Alexandria

but that would be a lateral move

If you have nothing else to do and have limited cash, go to the house almost at the end of Hayden St. If the U-Haul is there it is almost time.
Google maps will help you out.

Finnegan's Wake across the river is decent as far as CENLA bars go.
Other than that I got nothing. Pineville is a dry, pentecostal nothing burger of a town.

It's not all Pentecostal! Lots of baptist, too.
I was about the only Catholic in my classes when I didn't attend catholic school. Everyone was always trying to "save" my little heathen self.

Thank You for the suggestions. Definitely might try out the pizza place. I am not sure what the OT defines as "trashy" per se. I assume it simply means rustic or not luxurious in scale.

No, it's actually kinda trashy.
It's just country folk. They're good people.

I don't think so. Is that supposed to be a bar?
The only Sally I can find in Pineville is a beauty supply store.
gay bar back in the mid 1980s.
i was at la college for a semester so i learned all sorts of shite about that town.

Are you talking about this house. Seems very nice, though a little too grandiose for me.

That how I felt when I went to college in Ruston. A friend of mine invited me to his family bbq get-together thing. My catholic south Louisiana self thought it would be like a crawfish boil so I loaded down an ice chest. Yeah that was a no-go. Dude's grandpa asked me where I went to church and when I told him he called me a papist.

Go across the river to Alexandria. When we go into town from Woodworth we will go to Mirror Room, Finnegan's Wake or occasionally Spirits. We also go to the Oyster Bar at Tunk's Cypress Inn on Hwy 28 West. Its on Kincaid Lake and a nice place in the evening but its a decent drive from Pineville.

Years ago there was a strip club in Alex, that was pretty cheap. Spent $600 to entertain friends. I heard that place closed.

Yes. I am fond of the outdoors. I am more of a hiker and camper than a hunter. Kincaid Creek or Lake Buhlow might be worth a visit.
I am actually a mixture of deism and Baptist so I am not sure if I would "fit" with the Pentecostals.

Go to Spirits in Ellick for dinner. Head down to the Mirror Room for a bit.

The name is Fool's Gold. It is still around. It does not seem to be very popular anymore.

I assume the talking in tongues wouldn't freak ya out then. My first POA experience scared me to death. I didn't understand what was going on and I stood there slightly scared but then also trying not to laugh. I'm terrible, I know. But they truly have an amazing choir so if you like that kind of thing it could be cool.
There's a state park by Kincaid with a big hiking trail. Went when I was 10.
