The Levee bar did have phenomenal food and service. I'm pretty sure our waitress hooked us all up. Group of 10 of us.

You haven't been in a while. They have a pretty nice rotation going on and usually have something new on tap every month.

There's more cops than people in Pineville.. Wherever you go, stay there.

Get your swole on at the LC athletic center. It's actually pretty nice.

I worked out and had swim practice there right when it opened way back in the day. It is very nice. Haven't been in years but it appears they've kept it up.

Head across the river to ALX. Go to Bolton st. Ride up and down and you'll find a joint or two to hang out at.

The locals walking Bolton will be able to point you in the right direction.

Well, Pineville is dry, so you are probably gonna want to cross the river and do something in Alexandria. Robbie G's has good seafood. Spirits also has good food and usually has some live music on the weekends that is kind of fun to hang out to listen to.

If you want to drive a bit, go out to Tunks Cypress Inn out at Kincaid lake...food is good and the oyster bar is a good place to have a beer or two.

Also, you can head out to the Casino in Marksville for good food and gambling and sometimes live entertainment.

FWIW, remember that the place only has about 50K people, so don't set your sights too high and you can have an enjoyable time.

Go to Cajun catfish...was my favorite spot growing up. If you like fried catfish.

As others have stated you'll have to go to elick for bars. Too bad the bad you can't still hit drinking with Lincoln at the Cotton Gin any more. That would be the spot...

Aren't most of the lounges in Elleck still segregated by choice? Would hate for Volod to get caught up in the wrong place.

I spent almost 2 years down there working. Modded the elevators at Cleco, done a few at the hospital, and a few at the mayors office in Alexandria. I never found anything much to do around there.

Public schools, overall, are better than most of the catholic private schools.

Country Day is the best private school for pk-8. Menard sucks. Pineville High is the best HS. Bolton is good for math and science, but a very mixed crowd, in terms of ratios of extremely smart to extremely urban.

Overall, unless you're just wanting your kids to get a "catholic" education, I would go public in cenla. If I lived there my kids would go to Country Day and then Pineville for HS.

No idea. Been gone except holidays since early 2000's. All my buddy's I grew up with that are still there have families and jobs/careers. They all do the 'hang out with friends at the house/camp/lake/river' routine.

So funny to hear PHS is the best high school. Guess that's evolved over the yrs. Would not have described that way back in the mid 90's when I was there.
