Yes, the Kodak to Gatlinburg area is extremely filled with trashy people and tourist traps. There is pretty much no offseason to this anymore. It makes this area a lot of money and these trashy people love it. If you don't like it, don't come. Bucees will be there soon as well though.

I actually think it's still fine. It's not hard to avoid the tourist strips. There's still plenty of great things to do. You just have to actually go into the national park.

The only thing I get out of anyone who comes on here after going to that area and rails incessantly about how "trashy" it all is, is that this person does not know how to really travel at all.

It’s not that rich areas make everything better though. Same area, different vacation spot in Highlands, NC. Snobby pieces of shite can be just as bad or worse than the trashy folks in PF.

The highlight of my one and only trip to Pigeon Forge was meeting Leland Chapman in the parking lot of Dollywood water park and screaming "No ice in Paradise brah!!"

Pidgeon Forge is like a huge parish fair midway in the middle of some really beautiful country.
