Canada has no reason at all to take a war to the Philippines, so if something happens, it'll likely be at sea and in the air.

People are laughable uninformed about filipinos.
They are NOT your stereotypical passive asian country. They have a western mentality and they are fighters with a long history of kicking arse behind them.
I'm not sure how war would play out, but according to Wikipedia, the Philippines has more active military personnel than Canada has active and reserves combined, by a factor of nearly two.

I’d take the Canucks in this one. The Canadian military is pretty well respected. They are not a bunch of idiots running around with outdated AKs.

Don’t you know, anyone with a conservative lean in any position of authority is a dictator?

The Philippines military as a whole has much less capability than the Canadian military.
In the end, though this is like two people on opposite sides of the world calling to meet each other at the local Sonic. Neither country really has the ability to project any real power at that range. If for whatever reason it became an all-out war between them Canada would decimate them if no other countries intervened.

I concur... I ran around with these guys in the stan. It'd be a slaughter

Canada is one of those countries that would get swallowed up in battle in days without the support of their allies.
Pound for pound, I'd take any SE Asian in a fight over a Canadian.

This comes down to political will. There's no way that pussy Trudeau would go to war so over a trash dump.

Nobody has brought up the fact that Canada is a member of the North Atlantic Treaty? And if any actor attacks Canada then all members of the treaty are obligated to consider it attack upon them as well.
It is strange that so many of you seem to be siding with a wannabe dictatorial strong man who shits all over his country's constitution over one of our closest allies.
Although so many of you are imbecilic earslings who deserve nothing more than to eat your own shite.

This would be a hilarious war. I kinda want this to happen. Canada verses the Philippines.
Kind of reminds me of the Falkland Island war. Didn’t Britain end that thing in about a day ?

Tim Horton’s and Nursing Homes across the country are on red alert.
Where else will we find the staff for these places if we go to war with the Phillipenes?!?

So in dirty dealings like that, the only person guilty of frickery is the one accepting the bribe? I’d say Canada is just as shitty for offering and paying the bribe.
Why do you think the country of Canada should be responsible for what a private company named Chronic Plastics did concerning a bribe of an official in the Philippines? The company is Canadian sure but why is that the Canadian government's problem to fix?

It took a couple of months total.
One big difference is the British had aircraft carriers and Canada does not. Projection of force is hard without carriers. Canada would have to move their aircraft to a land base close enough to be effective and would have to have some countries permission to do it.
In the end just a mental exercise as nothing will come of this.
