Texas is litigious as frick Maybe they don't have the volume of billboards, but PI attorneys there make a shite ton and are in trial all the time.
I don't argue that they aren't. I'm not blaming plaintiff attorneys for the issues that LA has, I'm blaming Louisiana's legislation. Common sense reform, like the work comp cap in texas, are reasons why Texas is near the bottom of the US in work comp rates.
Texas' legislation in this regard is a perfect example of what Louisiana should strive for. Attorneys will always make their money and constantly be in court; but if there are some limits put on what they can or cannot due, then insurance rates won't skyrocket.
Think of it like this, I personally know of a work comp claim in Louisiana that is approaching $2 million. It would take 8 different claims in Texas to reach that figure

This is the type of shite that fricks up stuff for people with legitimate cases... And I’m not talking about bs slip and falls in Walmart..

You ever see anything wrong with how they handle a claim?
We fight with companies all the time over claims on behalf of insureds.

Right. The billboard thing is more of a product of our over saturated market and poor population than anything else.

Vote for Tort Reform.
This was the biggest and most controversial plank in David Vitter's platform for Governor. He lost. His opponent, Jon Bel Edwards, is, of course, a plaintiffs lawyer.

a bunch of plaintiff lawyers and corrupt doctors in cahoots
Here is the post....

I'm trying to figure out how someone can run into an 18-wheeler, suffer very little injuries and collect a $280k check.
This personal injury sh!t pisses me off.

Insurance fraud is a real thing. I’ll be curious to see who the lawyers and the doctors are.
A lot of money says multiple chiropractors are involved.

I would prefer that the doctors get called out more.
Everyone talks about tort reform, and everyone details the issues with shady lawyers.
But if you don't have a doctor or a life care planner lifting their skirt and telling a court that someone needs 5-30 years of treatment every time they are in a fender bender then you don't need that much reform.

they can't
If they are getting 280k chances are they had a surgery and quite a long bit of medical treatment

There are low life lawyers in every city suing insurance companies and their customers for made up injuries post incident
Of course the person(s) suing are just as low life as the lawyer representing them
In Louisiana injury fraud has become an epidimic
Louisiana needs more lawyers with high morals not the low lifes chasing fraudulent $

that's funny and illogical.
Vote for Tort Reform cause my fricking rates are up to $5300 a year now.

insureds pay my bills not companies.
when an insured is that pissed off at a company, they are going to leave me even though i'm an independent that represents many.
why the hell do i want my insured mad? The company saving $500 in a claim or trying to deny rightful coverage helps me none.

Oh, hell yeah. Can't wait to see where this leads.

So a severely injured worker has to take it in the shorts so multi billion dollar companies can save some money...

Could you elaborate on these reforms or are these talking points you bring back here?
I had a woman that ran a red light and hit me and I was 20% at fault because I was turning right and didn't turn into the right most lane immediately. Why is my insurance paying 20% for a woman that ran a red light? How do they come up with 20%?
