I couldn't run a mile. I'd probably do good to run a quarter

If I’m running a 9 minute mile, I’m having a terrible run.

I'd be more interested in who could do a 30:00 5k. I remember not training a lick for my first 5k and completely embarrassing myself.

FTR I could do maybe a 7:30 mile at "top" speed before puking and rolling over for dead.

It isn't fast. Maybe a 9:30 pace or so.
But, for those who haven't run in years, I would guess a 9 minute mile or a 30 minute 5k would be much harder than most would expect.
I can see coughing up blood and vomiting at the finish line for some.

Considering everyone on this site is 6’3” 185 lbs with 6% body fat, I’ll say 90% can.

Most people wouldn't pace themselves to 9:30/mi or whatever.

Mile 1: 8:15 "This is easy!"
Mile 2: 10:30 "I'll catch my second wind!"
Mile 3: 12:15 "I'll run 5 steps then walk 10 then run another 5 and oh my god how is that old lady passing me"

If you are out of shape there is no way in hell you’re doing a seven minute mile. Trey Wingo said he could do a six minute mile not knowing how fast that was. We’re going to have a bet on it but the subject never came up again. Freaking can’t stand that guy anyway he’s such a try hard
