Well a quarter of a mile takes me 1:45.

I averaged 14 min 2 Miles military PT test. That was running alongside someone else and not going full out.

...how are you so stupid to not realize that if it takes you that amount of time to run a quarter of a mile, it is highly unlikely you will maintain the same pace for the entirety of the mile?

Dude, a 2 minute drop in pace to make the mile is huge drop in pace and will allow you to go MUCH longer.....maybe even 4 times as long.
I'll admit I'm focused on distance running and somewhat trained at the moment, but a 1 minute difference in pace for me is the difference in what I plan to run a 5k compared to a marathon.
You are running a 7 minute pace in the quarter.....you should be able to make a mile in 9.

I'm 5'6" 285 and last time I ran a mile a few years ago I think I clocked ~6:00.

I don't run anymore (cycle)
I can still get an 8 minute mile through willpower alone...
I've walked a 9:40 minute mile before.

I ran a half marathon at a 7.03 clip so I think I'll be fine for a 9 minute mile

Was waiting for you in here.
Make that in a marathon and go to Boston, legally.
