I'm so glad you didn't say, "Say what?". That makes me feel a whole lot better.

This feels like something you should probably unpack internally.

If you’re hearing “do what now?” often enough that it sends you into a character assessment of everyone who says it, maybe you mumble, speak with all the projection of a timid church mouse, you have a feminine voice, or simply aren’t saying anything worth understanding.

At some point, you have to consider the common denominator.

But I bet you perk up when an attractive woman says “come again.”

If I don't understand you the first time I say

"one more again" but I pronounce the again with a silent A and just "gen"

so it's like "one more gen?"

and then other person is trying to figure out what the frick i said back

You say this:

quote:

But what if Sunday mornings are a good time to think about irreverent shite?

After saying this:

quote:

definitely judge people who say "do what now" when they didn't hear you the first time as being on the slower side and also the less emotionally well adjusted side, because only mentally slower people and adult children ever say it.

I always just used “huh?”, but may switch to “do what now?” just to spite you and your kind

I tend to judge people who say “where’s it at” or “where you at”.I cringe every time I hear someone say it but it’s become almost normal now with almost everyone adding the extra “at” to the end of a sentence. Even supposedly highly educated people.

One of my English teachers was on a tour while traveling somewhere up north. She was making conversation with another group on the tour and asked a lady where she was from. The lady replied “We’re from a place where we don’t end our sentences in prepositions.” To which she replied, “I’m sorry, where are ya’ll from, BITCH?”

Definitely not good to judge and yet I definitely judge people who say "do what now" when they didn't hear you the first time as being on the slower side and also the less emotionally well adjusted side, because only mentally slower people and adult children ever say it.

I use the everlasting "what"

I used to say "sir" or "maam"

But that is fricking weird to anyone not in the South. Tryna train folks around here as well. Just say "huh" or "what"

Typically the only people that care have a stick up their arse.

They probably just didn’t hear you all the way and want to make sure they understand you

Imagine how poorly an oxygen thief like you is judged.
