People who rush to the aisle when the plane parks at the gate

Flew out of New Orleans this morning, so I guess I should've known what to expect. Yes, I'm OT poor and didn't fly in a private jet.. just regular ol Southwest.
Am I wrong or is it just common sense/common courtesy that you wait until it's your turn to get up, grab your bag, and the proceed down the aisle?
As soon as we parked at the gate, a group of about 10 or in the very back of the plane just grabbed their shite and walked as far forward as they could and proceeded to stand there for 20 minutes. So I gotta sit there while they chit chat and bang me in the head with their bags.
No description of perpetrators. Draw your own conclusions using the context clues above
ETA: Flight landed ahead of schedule. Saw the same group leaving the airport so no connections to hurry for. I do agree that it’s acceptable if you have to make a connection

They should. Now, if plane is late and tight connections maybe, and I have had stewardesses make announcements about it, but generally you should remain seated till your aisle is deplaning.

Unless we are late landing at a hub airport...I get up and stretch next to my seat when we get to the gate. Sorry if you want to bum rush the front of the plane. You can wait your turn.

flying in and out of MSY is a nightmare and not because of the airport

Sounds like the Delta version of Air Afrika on the ATL-MSY and MSY-ATL runs

You expect way too much from society.

This. I don't get ahead of anyone but I do get my carryon down and wait for the people in front of me.

Cant imagine the horrors of commercial air travel. I take my time deplaning and make sure my pilots and stewards have everything they need before i rendez-vous with my drivers.

Everyone rushing to get off plane only to be waiting together again at the bag carousel. Makes no sense.

I usually wait till the sheeple get off the plane then grab my shite…

Was the flight delayed? This is acceptable if people are in danger of missing a connection.

often connecting flights give you 30 minutes to get to their gates and many times its 10-15 minute walk to the other side of airports.
but yes, in most cases its just people too stupid to understand standing in front of the door wont make it open sooner

If you think that’s bad, fly Spirit next time.
They should build a Sonic at y’all’s terminal. Settle it before boarding.

Was the flight delayed at all? Could have been in jeopardy of missing their connecting flight.

the only time that you should be rushing up the aisle is if the plane was running late and you are in danger of missing your next flight, but even then you should be speaking with the flight attendants and they should be asking that everyone remain seated except those specific people to get them off first.
after that it should be front to back in 2nd class and back to front in 1st class assuming they are using middle door.
that is just common courtesy like you said.
