They are manufactured to recline. Why would anyone not recline?

I goobled that word and no, I'm not. I just accept the fact that if you're too poor (like me) to fly first class, then flying sucks big veiny cocks.

The generally accepted rule of etiquette is that anything under 2 hours and you shouldn't recline. Anything over and it's fine. If you don't like having the person in front of you recline then spend the money for the upgrade. The seats recline for a reason. If I'm on a 4 or 5 hour flight in coach that seat is going back.

What a stupid fricking thing to get your panties in a wad about.
The chairs recline. So someone doing it isn't choosing to inconvenience you or whatever stupid way you're looking at it. They are simply choosing to utilize a feature of their seat that they are entitled to upon purchase of said seat.
Do you get mad when you're in a public bathroom and someone uses the loud arse hand dryer? Do you bitch about how "inconsiderate" they are for hurting your ears when they use the dryer? Doesn't that sound stupid and ridiculous? So does this.

I use 5th gear in my car also. It is there for a reason.

Your logic doesn't even follow. Why is under 2 hours "generally accepted etiquette"? You said yourself, the seat reclines for a reason.

What is wrong with you people? Are we talking a puddle jumper 45 minute flight or an ACTUAL flight? The seats recline for a reason, dipwad. If I’m on 16 hour flight, then you’re damn right I’m leaning back…but luckily won’t be in the back with winging plebs like yourself.

No problem with recliners. Just don't consistently move it back and forth and back and forth and back and forth.

Because it negatively affects someone else for minor personal gain?

I never understand why this shite bothers people so much. It’s not even that much of a difference in leg room
Posted on 6/13/24 at 2:08 pm to Scientific73
i try to be considerate and dont. the ridiculous amount you recline doesnt make any difference.
this is a good test for anyone on the OT saying they are over 6 feet and lying. if you say it doesnt matter if someone reclines, you arent over 6 feet tall.

I think there should be an unspoken gentlemen's agreement that you don't recline unless you're super tall or you've got a bad knee or whatever
But a lot of people on this site are all "I paid my 249 dollars for this flight, I'm gonna get mine!" so apparently it's not universal
Truth.

What pisses me off is someone behind me that gets up alot and grabs the top of my seat to pull themselves up.

Easy solution. Pay for first class. you get what you pay for
Posted on 6/13/24 at 2:15 pm to Scientific73
I do, but i'm tall and always sit in at least economy plus because it's free for me. It makes it much more comfortable. Also depends on flight time. IAH to MSY, not a big deal. IAH to SFO, yeah i'm reclining get over it.

I read it on a travel blog somewhere I think and it makes sense but I don't really give a shite. I generally dont recline on my flights from BTR to ATL/IAH/DFW because they're short and I can sit upright for an hour but after a few hours or on a red eye I need to recline.
Posted on 6/13/24 at 2:24 pm to Scientific73
I recline and snore like a mother.

If you don't like it, fly private.

quote:Economy or Economy Plus the person in front of me won't be able to recline just because my knees are halfway up the back of the seat and it won't go back. Doesn't mean some a-hole or kick won't attempt it. I always try to get business class and get bulkhead seating when I can, but it's not always available and sometimes a different flight isn't negotiable due to connectors or time frame to get to my destination. I'm of the opinion that bulkhead seating should only be for those with ailments that need the legroom, or for those over 6'3". It honestly grinds my gears a little bit when getting on a longer flight and seeing some little 5'8" guy or 5'3" woman in a bulkhead seat knowing I'm probably going to have someone bouncing on my knees with the back of their seat so they recline if I'm stuck in a plus or economy seat.
