re: L.A.B. putter

I got the DF3 December 2024. I had practiced quite a bit with a buddy’s and hit with one in store many times. Did the custom fitting, broke down and bought it… Nightmare for me! (This is an anomaly) Hardest part was lags; it is so soft that I could never get a lag close. It was either 5 feet short or 10 feet past. Secondly, I learned that on short putts I use my wrists more than I thought and I’m actually better off with my Scotty I’ve used for 15 years.
To be clear, I went for the LAB because my putts inside 8 to 5 feet were getting atrocious with my Scotty…lags were still OK. But I did feel like I needed a change.
The first round or two were just OK - I learned that the ball goes exactly where you aim, rarely getting off track with pulls or pushes. But then I got to where I could not make 3 to 5 footers with the thing! (Again, big anomaly amongst LAB users). In the end, I gave it 3 months and went back to my Scotty and am very happy with it again. Big waste of money for me…
I say all this to say - don’t think it is a magic wand. For some/most it might be, but for me it certainly wasn’t. Definitely not trashing the tech or LAB itself. I probably should have done more testing before committing.
I’m a Shinesty guy. Not cheap, but awesome.

Formerly JJ Leathersmith, now Oldis Road. Maybe not for everyone but I love it.

Oldis Road
It’s very simple. These stupid sports that no one cares about will die off. And the ones that are popular but lose money will have to start actually caring about trying to make money instead of losing it.
Wow. Lost a lost weight in her nose especially.
Literally just went through this over the last 10 days. My golden eats anything and everything, which apparently included almost half of a bath towel. Same deal, vomiting and wouldn’t eat, took her in and it was lodged in her intestines. Lucky for me where I live the vet prices aren’t as crazy, but it was still $2500-3000. Tough pill to swallow, and I did think twice. She’s on constant supervision or in her baren kennel now.

Had a litter of Goldens last year and four of them were boys. We named them Ace, Crews, Tanks and Paul.

re: Anyone played in Dubai?

All courses are semi-private, meaning anyone can play as long as you’re willing to pay. They are all expensive at the “rack rate” as well- around $275-300. Majilis at EGC is good but can be tough to get on. Els is generally in the best shape (I’m biased being a member), Creek is hit or miss but a good course. Trump is a nice track too. All are similar distance from Palm, except for the Creek.
What is wrong with you people? Are we talking a puddle jumper 45 minute flight or an ACTUAL flight? The seats recline for a reason, dipwad. If I’m on 16 hour flight, then you’re damn right I’m leaning back…but luckily won’t be in the back with winging plebs like yourself.
That was an actual storm system recently in Dubai, not cloud seeding. When they cloud seed you know it because it pisses dirty rain, not 8-10” in less than 24 hours. They also do it in the US, it just doesn’t get as much coverage. They have been doing it for decades.

Yes, mine is the heat pump style that does both chilling and heating. You’re correct.

What temperature differential can it achieve? I was always under the impression that any cooling for a pool was either insanely expensive or didn't really provide more than a couple of degrees of cooling.

You’ve been misled. I live in an extremely hot climate and can cool my pool from 100+ degrees down to below 85 degrees in about 36 hours. It costs the same as running an AC unit. In heat mode, same thing.

Thanks for the feedback. I’m going to cut a couple and just see how it goes. Problem is I live in Dubai and the US Kids sets are insanely overpriced here. Maybe can get him a set of them when I get home this summer for some time.

Thanks again!

Cutting down clubs for kids?

Does anyone have experience with this, positive or negative? My 8 year old son has expressed a big interest in golf and we have played a couple of 9 hole rounds and hit the range. He’s got a great swing but has a patchwork “set” of kids US Golf clubs- he only has a D, 3W and 6I. I’m thinking of cutting down my old AP2 set for him. Any suggestions or insight?
Only saw them once in 99 and Adam Duritz was so drunk that they only played 3 songs and exited stage. Pretty disappointing.

I’ll try the peppermint for sure. Never heard that. Thanks.

Yea I guess I just need to step up the routine maintenance- had them under control about 6 months ago but seems they are back. Time to reload traps.

Definitely rats though. Thanks for the advice!

Keeping rats out of a grill?

I’ve found rat droppings in the grease tray of my built in gas grill…made me want to rip the thing out and get a new one. Instead I just burned it for 10 minutes at 650F. Any suggestions on keeping rats out of there?

Pretty sure they are only interested in the grease trap part, as no droppings on the grates or anything. Still pretty dang gross.
