They assume everyone from our area is from New York. Most people here don’t have much of an accent.

Yes, constantly. People from the south and Jersey Shore types are literally the only groups left that are completely politically correct to talk shite about and poke fun at.

Damn.....Abalone is some good stuff, people on the Gulf Coast don't have access to it, but if you get some, it's a treat.

I have family up north and travel there regularly. I don't have much of an accent, so most people don't assume I'm from the South unless I tell them that. I get to hear what they really think and then they're typically really shocked when I tell them where I'm from. I guess since my features take after the Jewish side of my family, they all assume I'm from New York.

Weird. I've lived in LA for almost 20 years and I've never heard anyone bring up the South and bash it. Ever.

Politics of the crazy left have ruined my California. One of the most Awesome states in the country and they made it into a shite hole.

Yep.
Mendo to humboldt coast.
Yosemite. Which is not north.

Although it freaks me out living under volcano, they are interesting.

The downside is/are the urban traffic and the gangs in urban centers.

I like the political activism.

It would probably be annoying to live there with all the liberal policies, but California is beautiful and full of amazing places.

I lived in Monterey CA while studying at the DLI. Loved it! But I didn't have to pay rent or mortgage. The car fees were ridiculous.

State Taxes and home prices only if im trying to buy

The invasion of the homeless due to the liberals freeing them from jail and putting them on the streets

NorCal is awful

If you say so. It would be like you and your friends sitting around and constantly bashing the plains states or something. Just weird.

Believe it or not, most people don't spend their day thinking about you.

You're just another region of the country to most of us.

A friend of mine lives in Sacramento. Moved out there nearly 10 years ago. He has stuck it out because he loves the huge amount of great outdoor opportunities.

That's about the only positive though. He said most people are quite vain and constantly trying to "keep up with the Joneses". Also, COL is ridiculous. He makes good money but he is now about to start a family and seriously considering moving out.

I've visited multiple times and absolutely love the Sierras, the Pacific coast, etc. The prices and politics turn me off though.

Multiply x 100 and you have Newport Beach. Bigger faster and stronger rats. And I don't mean that in a bad way.

It’s amazing. People from some of the poorest, most backwards areas keep disparaging international cities such as LA and SF while using the terms “cesspool” and “shithole”.

Interestingly enough, Frisco, Texas got it's name because of the st louis-san Francisco railway. They called it Frisco City.

The official city logo is a throwback to the railway

What’s funny is that the Frisco never actually reached San Francisco. It was mainly a midwestern and Texas railroad.
