We have a girl working as an intern right now. Interviewed astoundingly well. Going for her doctorate.

And she's a complete fricking idiot.

I can't find a single subject which she knows. None. Nada.

Math on a calculator will be correct 50% of the time. Rough math to make a quick decision is beyond her. She can't remember simple policies and procedures for her paperwork even if they've been told to her 80x... in the past week.

I'm going hire a chicfila employee next time.

Hire former military

We beat trainees senseless until they are up to speed and useful. It translates very well in civilian life as vets are adaptable and driven to contribute to their organization quickly.

It's all about real world experience...and existing in the real world. None of that higher education crap is worth a damn, if you can't actually use it around the working class. I mean, I guess they can teach.......maybe.

Young people don't experience real life any more. To easy to google shite instead of using that brain on how things work.

Hit or miss. We have a guy right now, dumb as a brick. But eager to learn and he never makes the same mistake twice.

Some of the others we had, they show up shitty half the time.

At least use the right words if you’re going to call other people stupid.

I had a boss who had a M.S in ChemE from Ohio State. He borrowed my weeedeater and brought it back because he needed me to re-string the spool with line. I'm a ChemE as well but grew up working on cars, motorcycles my whole life. That old saying, "common sense is not that common" is very true.

Pics of intern?

It's for OT research purposes so you can't get in trouble for sexual harassment.

My sister in law is extremely smart. Should have been an MD. However has zero street smarts and common sense some days.

We had a millennial "genius" working for us as a summer employee. He would have to google "how to wipe your arse after shitting" before he went to the bathroom. No common sense whatsoever.
