The wife’s 19’ grand Cherokee does this and honestly I don’t think much of it, it’s suppose to save on gas.

They're the ones sweating. It gets hot as hell when the compressor is not fully running. Disabled mine.

I don't see how anyone could do this in the South Louisiana heat and humidity. I need my AC whether I'm driving or stopped at a light.

If you drove that car 100mph between each stop, you'd hardly ever have to buy gas again

Brah, it's just in ECO mode. Stop and go/idling is rough enough on an engine. I think you need to reevaluate what perturbs you. If it saves me a wee bit on my German gas guzzler, then so be it.

Mine does this, and it doesn't bother me in the least. Engine kicks back on automatically if the cabin gets too warm/cold.

If it’s too hot outside many of the auto stop systems will not work , the engine will just stay on. My 2018 ford has it and you have to switch it off every time you start the truck. I find this ironic because it also has an app that allows you to start the trick from anywhere and let it run as long as you want.

My wife's car does it and it's not even noticeable.

I mean, I get how you would know in the car, I don't get how you would realize in other cars.

Much less form an opinon about them doing so.
