Can’t turn it off on some cars, and on all others it requires that you turn the feature off every time you use it.

Stupid EPA. Not stupid drivers.

I don't see how anyone could do this in the South Louisiana heat and humidity.

Our Volvo won’t shut off if the A/C is on. It also won’t shut off if the engine isn’t warmed up or if the battery power is low.

I still don’t like it and disable it when I remember to.

Had a rental in DK that did this. Did not mind it, but was pretty shocked the first time it shutoff.

I find this ironic because it also has an app that allows you to start the trick from anywhere and let it run as long as you want.

It will kill itself after 15 min if the button isn't pressed after 15 min. You can set that at 5, 10, or 15 min....BUT the engine won't run forever.

My wife's uncle never idles. If he's driving and we stop for sunshine to run an errand ir wait for someone, that engine is being turned off.
Even if it's 100°
I keep telling him he needs a new car with this feature.

I'm not understanding how you can take a complaint about a feature on an automobile and turn it into a truck nutz bashing.

Most reasonable people wouldn't do that

Couldn't care less, but I think it's pretty rough on batteries.

My ford does it as well. Had the truck for a few months and I always manually check my fuel mileage. I want to check it without this feature now, but I always forget to turn it off every time I start the truck. I wish there was a way to permanently disable it. Just to see if it's actually saving any fuel, or if it's just wearing out the starter unnecessarily.

I'm too busy judging whether they look trashy.

They use beefier starters or fire a single cylinder to restart engine and use better batteries or 2 batteries in the case of an F150.

This

I had a rental a few weeks ago and there was no way to turn it off. It's the middle of July in the south and this damn truck keeps shutting off when I stop.

Can shift to neutral and it will restart.

I think the other way is some sort of key sequence or going into the entertainment system.

Mine does this, and it doesn't bother me in the least. Engine kicks back on automatically if the cabin gets too warm/cold.

This.

Also, this is a perfect example of bizarre things people complain and/or need to express an opinion on for no reason what so ever.

I think in newer models it does.

My auto start/stop shuts off when i'm approaching a light as well as shutting down while sitting idle.

They won't save gas and they will increase the wear on the engine from so many starts. But this is what the enviromental lunatics want.

It's been proven that this isn't true.
