Why do we play any anthem at NFL games?
It is a tradition that started with baseball over a century ago.

Why should there be a black national anthem? If that is the case then why stop there? Shouldn't everybody get an anthem then? That is the point of the one.

Probably because they’re both concerning America as a whole and not highlighting an individual race

No one is claiming that God Bless America is the national anthem.

Agreed. Nothing triggers people more than the anthem. It’s ridiculous.

Because God Bless America isn’t referred to as a separate national anthem for a separate group of people within the same country. How stupid are you?

Probably because one song represents 13% of the US population. Its the epitome of segregation.

I appreciate that Bill Maher is able to piss off both parties. Seems like everyone has to have their “side”, no matter what. Jon Stewart was the same way. Sure they are both classic liberals, but I’ll take that over the Joy Reid’s and Stephen Colbert’s all day every day.

Even Bill Maher is not liberal enough for the current Democratic Party. That’s unbelievable.

I see it more as inclusive than segregationist... but whatever. I don't think it should be played at games but I also don't think the national anthem should be played. It isn't that complicated.

Also, 13% of Americans may be black, but I guarantee more than 13% of NFL fans are black and way more than 13% of NFL players are black. I would wager that close to 30% of fans are black and 60% of players.
