Idk about cold weather, but it's definitely a thing after a storm blows through. If the wind was gusting at 30mph at my house, I guarantee you it was 50 plus at my coworkers place. And he lives 10 minutes away.

It can be 10 or more degrees cooler on the north shore than working in the business district in NOLA, almost everyone asks me about the cold and or fog daily. It's just small talk, I don't know why it bothers you. At least they aren't talking about their favorite/hated Democrat/Republican when they are talking about the weather.

All I know is that it was too cold for me this morning with the wind blowing. I hate cold weather. Come on April/May.
