To be fair, you really don't know why they are doing it. It could be about something completely unrelated. With that said, it is Facebook so I am sure there are people who are posting that, who thinks a lot of people are so concerned about them, just because they live in Texas that they feel the need to assure people, although they were never in harms way.

This. A lot of friends from out of state don't know what the impact is. One of the tornadoes was one subdivision over from mine. That being said, I didn't check in as safe.
