He posted it before Houston was getting hit...absolutely nothing wrong with what he said considering there was very little danger at that point..now, OTOH, I can see the facebook safe feature of some use

Wow, this thread was started on Saturday. And there were people in the stickied thread shocked that people in Houston didn't evacuate on Thursday?

I live in CA and FB asked me if I was safe.

I went ahead and let everyone know I was fine, for the lulz.

I'll assume it's because I've got FB friends in Houston and have posted from there in the past?

The OT is not fair, but the sewing thread is. Maybe you and your being fair would fit in better over there.

Except for the fact that models were predicting 40+ inches of rain for the Houston area since last Wednesday. It also didn't take a rocket scientist to figure out the South East winds and storm surge would back up the coastal areas preventing the water from draining.

There's about 50 reasons this thread needs to be deleted other than the op.

Tensions running high.
Miscommunications.
Lines crossed.

Things said that people wished they could unsay. I'm sure they want this gone too.

I'm checking in safe too. I'm also not living anywhere close close to where Harvey hit but I feel like I should still let everybody know that I am safe.

Nah. I'm good with what I posted then, which was to poke fun at people I know posting "I'm safe" before Houston even had a few inches of rain. A female friend drove home on Friday afternoon in Houston, stocked up at the liquor store and posted a pic of her backseat filled with booze and mixers and then reported "I'm safe", while Harvey was still offshore and far away from Houston. I'll admit, though, my OP appears insensitive to the current plight of Houston area residents, so if admins want to pull the thread, fine, otherwise, continue to fire away.

Nah, frick um. Everyone that paid attention to the models knew it could get bad in houston. Not our fault a few posters showed their arse.

My girlfriend got a shitton of text all weekend from people back home, it's much easier to just say I'm safe Facebook.
