This administration has strayed a long, long way from DOGE.

Whether you intended to or not, I'd hazard a guess the author of this article at MSN or wherever they source articles wasn't posting the same drivel during 2009-2017 or 2021-2025.

I'm not sure why this matters. It should piss you off even more that the administration that you voted for is doing it, especially considering that Trump promised to cut wasteful government spending. It does for me at least.

He promised to rebuild the military. Need money to do that. Money was allocated for it. People here are losing their minds about a budget surplus that's less than the cost of a single new fighter jet. If you refuse to look at that context then that's on you.

Of course not. Look how many mouth breathers on here opposed and criticized DOGE.

And, people on here read this and think it’s guys in uniform living high on the hog. 10:1 it’s civilian bureaucrats in the Pentagon.

I'm just not naive enough to believe that this kind of spending is exclusive to our military. Its not. And you know it. Its the same ol shite. Nothing has changed.

People here are losing their minds because of the wasted tax dollars being spent frivolously so that “their budget doesn’t get reduced”

If you have that much extra, it absolutely needs to be heavily reduced.

Get out of the trump vs dem shite and realize that’s OUR money.

this concept is so infuriating, and i watch it happen year after year.

I remember being on active duty and our section had several thousand dollars left over.

They were all in a panic to spend it on the most random of things. We ended up with a $2500 big screen, dvd player, and some other random shite. Didn’t matter what we bought, just that we spent the money.

$25 million surplus is 0.0003% of the total federal budget and 0.002% of the defense budget.

Just so we're clear, if one of our fighter jets crashed tomorrow and needed to be replaced, we'd be over budget because y'all are melting about troops getting decent food and office furniture.

Out of all the waste to complain about in the federal government

I worked at UK in the 90s, and they do this at every govt entity. Got to spend it, and or waste it, to not get cut for the next round.

Taxpayers are screwed daily by govt at every level.

They couldn't spend it on much needed ammo and munitions?

This happens every year, nothing new. I've been a part of it many times. 10-15 years ago, flat screens were the item of choice to send EOY funds on. There's probably rooms in military bases all over the world with unopened boxes of flat screen TVs.

There's so much waste in the DOD/DOW, you could cut their budget/manning by 25% snd get more done.
