Well, in the beginning the whole no toilet paper, no paper towels, no cleaning supplies, etc., was a little alarming, but after a few weeks and some adjustments by grocery stores, things seem to be a little more normal. But it is still odd seeing downtown look like a complete ghost town and having little traffic because most everything is closed.

What she fails to understand is that this is not a situation where a single city was devastated by a hurricane. The whole country is in the same boat. I don't see how a bailout is going to work. There are large states that are going to be insolvent.
If she cares about the city she can get on with working to get things reopened.

She’s already laid the ground work for the bailout request. She didn’t put out there that Nola was already $150 million in the hole and facing bankruptcy from Covid response spending for nothing. She’ll likely go to the table looking for $300 million.

Edit: The feds should make clear to everyone that there will be no money pumped into states, counties or cities that continue to shut themselves down economically. If they want to commit economic suicide, it is on them.
