A lot of people. Tons of middle and high school kids. There are 2 apartment complexes down Buddy Ellis. People walk down Buddy Ellis, then cross Juban Road to the gas station.

People also regularly ride their bikes on the wrong side of the road and at night without any safety gear.

For some reason the people driving by that gas station drive like a bunch of monkeys. I don't know if some one was hit and killed there but I would not be surprised. Awhile back I pulled in and was about to turn into the parking spot when a young guy in a jeep just blew by me between me an dthe parking spot. It's always like that. That area and 447 routinely have some of the worst reckless drivers I have seen.

Roads where the speed limit is 55, aren't roads you need to be running across.

I drove by around 7:30 and it permanently happened right past the intersection directly in front of the convenience store. They had traffic blocked (headed towards i-12 lanes were still open) and diverted down Buddy Ellis. I knew it was a fatality based on the amount of state troopers and the equipment they were using. Very sad.

It was a hit and run.

quote:

Authorities are searching for the driver of a 1997 to 2002 Ford pickup with damage to the left side believed to have struck and killed a pedestrian around 6 p.m. Tuesday.

Corey Pepples, 36, of Denham Springs, was fatally struck on Juban Road, south of Interstate 12 in Livingston Parish, according to State Police. Pepples was hit while walking on Juban Road, and the driver immediately fled, head south on Juban Road.

The vehicle is also missing driver's side mirror, said Trooper First Class Bryan Lee.

Lee asks that anyone with information regarding the fatal crash call Louisiana State Police Troop A at (225) 754-8500 or a local law enforcement agency.
