Went there this past weekend to get my daughter a homecoming dress.

The movie theater had zero movies listed in the front. You pretty much had to ask what was playing. That'll be the last mall in Louisiana to die though.

This is a real name? Is "Pecanland" the reason for the closing?

The only time my dad would go with us to the mall was around Christmas. He would go straight to Chelsea’s and sit there all day. There would always be someone he knew in there.

I watched many movies there. Top Gun, dirty dancing, crocodile Dundee, titanic, and 8 seconds among others.

Sbarro and corndog 7 were my favorites.

yes sir. that’s it.

my older cousin went to Tech and every time i’d visit him, him and all his buddies would load up to go to a movie at the pecan mall and eat at El Chicos.

Was also a place I liked, but my favorite was the place with the meat on the rotisserie. They sold gyros and whatnot. I don't know what kind of meat it was. Lamb? But the "super steak" sandwich with the onions and peppers and all that cheese. Nom nom nom.

was there a famous/infamous mexican joint at or near Pecanland Mall?

El Chicos was inside at one time.

Used to enjoy buying beers from the daquiri shop in the food court. Walking the mall, drinking beer, and people watching was some good times.

My 3rd favorite theater growing up…

1. Cinema 3 (next to the old KMart)
Saw Boyz N Hood there
2. Eastgate $1 Cinema (I’m from the
Booker T area so it’s the closest)

Yada yada he sat out a year, learned his lesson and is now an upstanding member of the community. His kids have no idea how frattastic he was before he settled down.

I saw Independence Day in that theater and many more with my grandparents. Pretty sure thats the first place I saw Oakley sunglasses and I'd never wanted something so bad in my life. I still dont understand why.

Also got my grandmother to buy me an Oasis cd there. She didnt know I wasnt allowed to have it and my mom found it a month later. The back cover had a jar full of cocaine. I had no idea what it was I thought it was sugar or something.

I worked at the daiquiri shop there in college. Laid back place. The owner would put rich and royal in the crown royal bottle b/c it was cheaper. I hated selling that crap to unsuspecting people.

Tilt is back and it’s actually a descent arcade. It’s pretty empty on Saturday mornings and the kids love it
