If you want to take a nap, an hour of that guy talking will do the trick.

The opposition has started in earnest. I've seen about a dozen reels of locals and bunny huggers alike boo hooing and poo pooing the entire effort. Its taken all of, what, 72 hours for the NIMBYS to start their shite?

Best part is, half of those bitching about it don't even live anywhere close to Pecan Island. Just the typical "muh wetlands" "muh culture", "muh wildlife" 'bullshite. I won't 'be surprised if Elon pulls the plug on the whole thing.

Really, that wouldn’t be surprising to you? Elon completely doing a 180 wouldn’t surprise you?

Be fricking real, man

These are probably the 3 best attributes of the state. We’re so corrupt and poorly run that most big money opportunities don’t reach the common man with much of it lining out of state pockets.

The only people in my opinion that have any argument against this are the 300+ residents down there. These people live down there for peace and quiet and have a right to be against this. But for the greater good of the area and the state this needs to happen. Hopefully the locals get good compensation and can move further inland similar to what happened in Cameron with the LNG.

The thing that keeps Louisiana going is the ‘promise of something big’ yielding no tax revenue, and ultimately a big screw job to the citizens, with nothing different. This happens every few years, people get excited, and nothing changes.

You don’t think Elon anticipated this? I’d be willing to bet my life savings he doesn’t give a single frick what T-nonc in pecan island or purple haired Karen in grand coteau thinks.

Zero chance this happens. The haters can whine all they won’t. They simply don’t matter though.
