Haven't done it in years but when I did it was to retain fluids while working or playing baseball in the heat if I didn'thave salt tablets..Actually enjoyed it.

I eat the peanuts and drink at a similar rate. However, I always leave some peanuts in reserve so I get a good amount on the last swig.

My younger cousin would do this. I like peanuts but not saturated with coke.

Anytime I go on a long trip I do peanuts and coke while driving. Not sure why, just like it.

I grew up doing this with my grandpa on the front porch. Also mashed nilla wafers in a glass of cold milk.

This is common where I'm at in South Carolina. Folks who worked in the tobacco fields would call it a poor man's lunch. You'd either get a pack of nabs and a Pepsi or a pack of peanuts and a Pepsi.

The old timers used to come in my dads store and do this all the time when we had glass bottles. I still do it from time to time. Don't knock it till you try it.
