They were looking for any reason to cuff him and he didn't do himself any favors by driving the bus at him.

Bottomline is the guy is scum...but he should have the right to keep his business open. This is a clear example of targeting him for something but getting him on something else.

Are protestors allowed on private property without the owners consent?

I don't like what this guy is doing but you can't "assault" someone without having physically touched them.

What compels people to post stuff like this when they have no idea what they're talking about?

"Assault in Louisiana is an attempt to cause physical injury to another person – for instance, attempting to strike someone with a hand or object, and missing. Assault also is any intentional act or threat of action that reasonably causes a person to feel afraid of impending violence. Words alone do not constitute an assault, but if an offender threatens to attack or injure another, appears to have the ability to carry out the threat, and causes the victim to reasonably believe that he is about to be struck or injured, the offender has committed an assault."

I'm sure Christ love that beating he took. And all those Christians in the middle east just love being roasted over an open fire.

Thanks for the clarification.

I totally had "assault" and "battery" flipped in my head. Assault sounds worse to me for some reason.

No, what does that have to do with this instance?

Look, I think him being charged is pretty ridiculous but I don't understand why people feel the need to white knight this scumbag.

That being said, I think this pastor is a POS but the charges won't stick.

I can't imagine any actually expects the charges to stick, the cops are just sick of him showing them up

He is trying to be a martyr.

He wants his sheep to see his persecution and donate more money to his pockets.
