No one “fails to navigate the exit”. He either fell asleep or looked at his phone.

Another possibility: Hauling arse to the point he just lost control.

At any rate, damn shame the kid lost his life.

Louisiana is retarded for improperly installing traffic control devices. At least according to one poster.

Am I remembering something that didn't happen, but didn't a truck full of cows tip over the I-10 at the exit to the Mississippi River bridge, sending cows flying all over the place? Would have been late 70s.

Yes that happened. Right in the curve leading up to the Miss bridge. There was some playground equipment down below. Some cows died and some were wandering around.

guard rails on backwards

Don't be an idiot,

These are handrails. This was built in the 60s-70s they were designed for some one to lean on as they walked down the interstate from a broke down car to get gas. Never ever designed to keep a vehicle from exiting the roadway, that is what the concrete wall is for.

Or was that at Sports in the early 90s.

I am sure we were all in that place together on more than one occasion.

And I have no recollection of anything having to do with cows there....

My youngest was one of the first responders that showed up first. He said it was a fricked up scene

Wow, someone bringing actual knowledge into a thread like this, as opposed to speculation . Imagine that .
I’m amazed, either most of these mofos are PI attorneys or even more sad think like a PI atty trying to blame someone or something other than the fkn baw who fell off/drove off the bridge.

Cow truck fell off and a melon truck too. Littered the playground underneath.

I remember the locals were filling their cars with melons.

No one wanted to load up on some fresh beef?

I remember something similar happening when we lived in Houston but it was one of the really high overpasses south of downtown.

Actually, those were correct and standard for the time when that ramp was constructed. K rails are safer, but were designed and adopted much later.

Ask him if the driver had a seizure and if there were other passengers. A family member told me that his friend said he knew the guy who died and that's the info I got.

I never left Sports with a cow, but woke up with a few the next day.

Those are bridge barrier rails, and I don’t have access to the original plans for that part of I-10, but according to a document published by LTRC, those are installed facing the correct way.

Those round rails are made of aluminum. There are several locations in north Baton Rouge along the I-110 ramps where they were cut and removed by some local talent.

Louise Street
this is the exit we took to get to my grandparents’ house on Nicholson when we were kids. We called it “lousy street”

we were easily amused

I actually watched a Tahoe go over the concrete barrier on 110 over Expressway Park and South Blvd. It was hauling arse trying to skip line by driving on left shoulder. Went up against the barrier and tires lifted it over the barricade; momentum kept it going right over.
