That's exactly it. If a tall building isn't allow to be built... then a tall building can't collapse. Duh.
She's so proud of herself for coming up with that "logic" and doesn't understand why the rest of us aren't giving her "atta girls" for it.
Meanwhile, if she stood in front of the building on Canal St and turned around in a circle, she would see tons of buildings that are much taller, that haven't collapsed... but that's too much research.
The sad thing is, you know a lot of those VCC/Historic District NIMBY's are going to latch on to this deal to continue their crusade to try to thwart and obstruct EVERY possible new development.
Hell, you could possibly argue that part of the deal with this thing is, you have developers/builders that are more versed in greasing the corrupt system to get the permits than they are at actually building good buildings.

Thank you for visiting www.citadelbuilders.com. We appreciate the outpouring of support and concern over the tragic accident at our future Hard Rock Hotel site in New Orleans. We are shocked and saddened that there was loss of life, but we are equally grateful that the majority those injured are now resting comfortably at home with their families. We will continue to monitor the condition of those who remain under medical care.
At Citadel Builders, safety has always been and shall remain a priority for our employees and subcontractors. In the 16 years since we opened our doors, we have completed over $700 million in projects across Louisiana without any OSHA violations or Loss Time Accidents. We have also been a multi-year recipient of the Step Safety Award from the Louisiana Association of Builders and Contractors. We are proud of this impeccable record, and have worked hard to achieve it. While we don't yet know what caused the accident at the Hard Rock site, we would like our clients, friends, and the general public to rest assured that we are working with some of the finest engineering minds in the world and will get to the bottom of it.
From our leadership and our employees, we thank you for your well wishes and ask that you keep the deceased and injured in your prayers.

Bold move.

doesn't seem like anything in that statement is "going on the offensive" at all

Looks like a statement to me...

From the recent press conference:
Probably a good idea. Don't need a heavier drone crashing into the site.

New Orleans' Office of Homeland Security Director Collin Arnold also said the federal government has implemented a no-fly zone covering a half-mile radius over the collapse zone. It will not affect people traveling through Louis Armstrong International Airport or Lakefront Airport. But it is meant to restrict other aircraft, including drones, from flying below 1,000 feet in the vicinity, Arnold said.

You remind me of the whackos that used to show up to public meetings I'd host. We'd be doing something like improving storm drainage or building a park, and people like you would come in and say we were trying to create a New World Order. Smart growth has nothing to do with a structural collapse. Are you anti-vax, too?

That's what I'm wondering. It looks like something went very much bad there, but what about that picture tells us it's connected in any way to this project?

All I can see is that unit of lumber sitting on top of that generator looking thing...

Word is they can't recover the bodies so they are gathering DNA samples via poles and needles. Looks like this mess will need explosives to bring it all down.
What a disaster

WWL TV's David Hammer
David Hammer has spoken to over 1/2 dozen people working on the project and they all expressed concern with the project. Great video report by the Hammer

So they know where they are and can get close enough to swab / inject them... but can't get the bodies out?

Nothing new in that video report that had not already been made public

Even if the design is poor any experienced GC should question it to prevent something like this from happening
