Parking Lot Etiquette Scenario

We are going to eat brunch at Mason's so the lot is full with several people hunting for spots. I'm following a car heading to the back lot when a couple gets into their car to leave. The car in front of me has passed up the soon to be open spot and is idling at a bottleneck. I put on my blinker to turn into the new spot but the leaving car blocks my path for an instant which allows the car in front of me to back into the spot.
I then hunt for a new spot while the two women who swooped in pose for selfies against that drop and ditch as a background.
Was that driving maneuver a dick move or fair game?

It was a dick move. Anyone with sense knows that the space is forfeited once you have passed it.

That's why I do a 3 point back in. Cant pull up too far to let them swoop in behind you. Go really slow makes them angry. Win win

We were going to a 5th /6th grade football camp and I pulled in the (full) parking lot, some lady pulls out of a spot and I pull in. Perfect - tell Jr to get his shite and get out.
All of a sudden this blonde is screaming bloody murder at me, apparently she had been sitting on the other side waiting for the car to clear the spot.
Anyway, I waved a smartass wave to her and we walked off to the fields.
Later we find out her husband will be my son's coach for the year so I had to see her 3/4 times a week, she was pissed all season.
