I've told my kids I don't like these and I disagree with the law but it's the law. At 18 we've offered them a beer here and there but they always declined.
I'm sure the older one drank before he was if age and probably the second will but I always remind them that if they do end up drinking to call and we will get them. No questions asked. I remember peer pressure.

I think it's 18 when they can legally drink with a parent. I'd never give other kids alcohol. Never. I'm not an idiot.

Trash, if kids are shitty enough to ask their parents then you suck as a parent. It's not hard to ask your friends

Why would you get suspended for kids going to your party rather than another party?? Drinking aside ... Why?

I understand the argument that "they're going to do it anyway, if I buy it, I can supervise it." I think that's a bit of a cop out,

More than just a bit of a cop out. Spineless and very poor parenting.

Never is the correct answer. Lead by example. My kids never asked me to buy alcohol for them because they knew the answer. Some, but not all, will get access to alcohol, so you still need to talk about "responsible drinking." Be the adult...your kids will respect you.

So those of you with daughters who drink would especially benefit from using the same logic with the blowjobs

I've never had a blowjob get me drunk.

I am not going to buy my son drinks until he is at least 18. If he wants to drink before then he is going to have to figure it out the same way I did.

Buying for your own kid to consume is legal at I believe 16. I would buy for my kid if u had one, allow them to become familiar with it early. (Would not buy it for them to drink when i am not around) I wouldn't let them get drunk obviously and no way in hell would I buy for friends.

Yeah I want to say that we were told 17 or 18 ... but I can't remember. It's only recently that my oldest (now 23) really drinks in front of us.

My dad wouldn't buy alcohol for me, but if I wanted a beer or two from the fridge when I was that age, he rarely said no. Granted that was decades ago and maybe times have changed...

It's not like we were pounding shots or anything. But I had many a beer with my dad during my teens.

I had at most a few beers from the fridge in HS (not even enough to say I drank much at that time), but that was usually if my dad was around and we were inside.

I see a big difference in 15 and 17. And whether to let them drink at home can be reasonably argued either way but buying them alcohol to drink elsewhere is just flat stupid from a liability point of view.

Depends on the kid....my parents didn't buy or allow me to drink much and I was out of control. My much younger sister is in HS and they let her do whatever she wants and offer her alcohol, which she usually rejects.

Very bad idea. The kids don't need alcohol to survive

I bought my own booze at 15. My parents would let us hang out though.
