Actually, both CHS and SJA have less of a waiting list now than they've had in a long time. They may not even have a waiting list anymore, for that matter.
It's so fricking expensive to go there, they've priced themselves out of what they used to be. It's a completely different school now than when I attended there.

Isn't it about 10-12k? Honestly that's about par for the course outside of Episcopal or Dunham

Yep. Put it this way, when I went there it wasn't expensive like that. It was more selective than expensive. Now, it's less selective and they just charge an arm and a leg to go there.

Yeah, I understand. We pay 12k for the 6th grade, by choice though. We lived 45 minutes to an hour from work previously and decided just to go the private route.
It saves us about 2 hours per day in traffic combined. Our time is worth money.

I’m pretty sure CHS and SJA don’t have waiting list at all anymore. The flight of folks to AP, Central and Zachary schools eased that off.
The big decision is if parents want to or can afford CHS/SJA, or pay less and send them to St Michaels

I noticed that at Dunham, they seem to be very regimented. Parkview seemed to be more laid back and family oriented with the younger kids for sure. My boy is starting kindergarten this fall. I want to put him one place and keep him there. Runnels is it next visit. We applied at Parkview and Dunham and got accepted at both. Struck me as odd Dunham spent 1.5 hours testing my son for admissions. FWIW we live on Bluebonnet close to the interstate so both of those schools are close. Runnels is a little bit further, athletic program is not a concern. The fit of school for my child and school values are way more important than their athletic program. To me having the right fit is more important than accolades, so he can have an opportunity to flourish

Coworker has his kid at Parkview and seems very pleased. Kids doing great. Mine is at St James downtown and doing great, the wife's happy.

Academic wise I wouldn't put U-High in the same tier as Episcopal. I went to both and can tell you the academics at Episcopal are superior.

Do yourself a favor and google Dunham school ratings.
It will list 6 very important categories that will help you determine.
Dunham and Episcopal are by far the top two.
My daughter started at Dunham and now is a Sophomore. We have been extremely happy with every aspect of the school.

I was a Runnels “lifer”. K-12th grade. Definitely a free spirited type of school, but in a good way. Great focus on academics. Prepared me well for college/life. I had average to below average grades during high school and graduated at the very bottom of our class, but I only made one C in college.
