That'll learn me for not reading well. I stand corrected. No, you should not cheer then.

The amount of people on a sports message board that don't understand what coach pitch is is amazing.

Depends…on a great pitch or shitty swing?

Your team did nothing good in this case. Kid was struck out by his own coach. It’s very trashy. Root for your kids but not against the other players. They’re 8 year olds.

I understand what it is, I just misread the title. I have to imagine that is what most people did, as well. Cheering a SO in coach pitch is shameful.

Do I get to cheer when we score on an error?

Sounds like the team needs a better pitcher.
Exactly, a good 8 y/o coach who pitches to his team will know the kid's batting weaknesses and strengths and usually pitches so the kid can hit.
My nephew's regular coached who pitched couldn't make a game so another coached pitched. Guy was a lefty, none of the kids could hit.

I've known what coach pitch was from the start. Props on the stellar reading comprehension.

As a coach who pitches in coach pitch, I celebrate by pounding my chest and yelling “Let’s Go!!” after a strikeout

Coach pitch really should be pitching machine. A lot of these tournaments come down to who has the best coach pitcher(s) and yeah coach pitchers can have bad days too.

I cheer when little Braighdynn's team wins. Every win counts when your goal is the Southeast Regional All Star Premier Rec u8 World Series. My wife already has the Venmo tag on the back window of her Tahoe because you KNOW we're going

Good base running by the player scored the run…kids still did something to score a run

What if the opposing kid who struck out goes to hitting lessons twice a week at $60 a pop, is it okay to clap for his failure then?
