When you retire and get old and dementia and they can return the favor

Getting them potty trained is a big milestone. But every age presents it own unique set of joys and headaches. Just enjoy the ride.

About late 3 or early 4 years old. Then you will be the greatest man on earth. For a few years.

Sounds like you got a feral one. I recommend one of those invisible fence things.

Just like Murder 1, it’s a lifetime sentence.

The worst is the transition between the ages of 13-17.
Then after 17 it’s a whole different ballgame

love my child but the kid kind of sucks right now. Always screaming over his teeth. Always screaming because he is hungry. Always sick as hell and mean. Always whining. Always yelling and doesn't want to be held. Always wants to be left alone to play. Beats the ever living hell out of you if you try to rock him. Give me some light at the end of the tunnel. Is it grade school?
You need to have another kid. You haven’t learned the lesson yet.

I’ll let you know. It’s at least after 5th grade.

After Terrible 2’s it gets better.
By 4 they are what you usually envisioned when you embarked on this journey.
It does get better promise. The first couple of years, by Sunday night I was about to jump out of window thinking I had to to go work the next day and do it all over again.
Hang in there!

None of my 3 were that bad, but my twins at about a year old had some issues, and couldn’t get them satisfied. Took them to the dr, they had inner ear issues, got them tubes, & never had anymore issues with them. Also my boys didn’t want to be touched during that.
You could try taking him for a ride.

Twos are worse and then 3/4 better. My kids are 8,8,6,2, they all have good days and bad days. I see why my parents age fast kids are draining/stressful.
Also my pullout game is weak as frick.

Sounds like this varies by kid. Our almost 2 year old is more frustrating in the last few months, but still generally pleasant/easy. I don't think I've ever really gotten tired of him. I like hanging with him more than anything else for the most part.
I'm assuming if we have a second kid they'll have colic and be a complete dick

Our youngest is in the 10th grade. You are just getting a whole new set of problems at that point

As a dad it is hard to really bond in the first year because the child is often so reliant on its mother. IMO, 3-6 is the sweet spot. They will never (seem to) love you more and you will be everything in their eyes. Don’t “miss” those years

Put a little whiskey on them. Evidently that's what my parents did to us.
