PAO mentioned 10 or 11 earlier and they were still trying to account for all of the troopers on the ground

Dnt know any details. We were woke up from a dead sleep so hopefully its overblown. But this has never happend in 15 yrs of my wife working in surgery. Usually if not on call, the phone dont ring. Phone was blowing up, she said "its work im not on call" and put on vibrate.. phone kept vibrating constantly every 5 mins, then text rolled in saying mass casualty situation everyone report. And a coworker said 84 patients, need everyone. All i know

I was told earlier in the week two jumps were planned. First was a small jump on the air strip. Next day was to be a large jump on an open area of Shelby. The second jump was possibly a few thousand para-troopers.

I'm assuming this was the first jump with less para-troopers

Would they be rushing people to the hospital in ambulances for minor injuries as a single precaution in all of this chaos?

Really no clue man.. hopefully. My wife works in surgery though. Not the ER.

I can’t imagine the stress waking up to a text saying 84 patients we need everybody.

How quickly did your mind jump to mass shooting? Or what did you immediately think?

That’s wild man.

100% first second... i had just read about that joker movie "warning" a couple days ago. And the first thing popped in my mind was a theatre shooting because of that. Sad world we live in thats the first thought

The DZ at Shelby is massive and gets plenty of use. If it is 80 soldiers, it's a big time frickup.

Update: reports say not all 80 paratroopers are injured. Several thousand personnel are apparently at Camp Shelby and 80 participated in the exercise tonight that injured paratroopers.

Think the CO will be relieved of command?

It’s kind of a standard practice in the USN when there’s a frick up on a ship

Same thing we thought. Wife got a call from a family member as soon as she got the text to come in to Forrest General, just to make sure they were ok and at home. She called her brother and sister right after as well.

Crazy how thats the first place we go anymore....
