I can't stand those dumb things. Probably one of the dumber initiatives that popped up out of nowhere.

I'd hate to live in an area where they are mandatory.

Nothing like living 1000 miles from the coast and having a paper straw to save the sea turtles.

You have to cut down 15 average size pine trees to make 1 paper straw.

When I was a kid in elementary school, they would give you paper straws for your milk. Mom always put plastic one in my lunchbox.

Sams Club's Cafe has some blue "plastic" straws that are compostable.

Well, in the 50s we used paper straws. We also used long uncooked macaroni as a straw sometimes.

I hate those things. I started packing a bag full of regular straws that I take with me when I travel.

I had one at a restaurant in my area a couple of months ago, it was made out of a wax/resin and it was great. Had 2 iced teas and never had to replace the straw. I agree though that the standard paper straw is trash.

What a contradiction, being human is so tragic
Focus on minorities, ignoring all the masses
Hallelujah, everyone, activism saved the planet
No more plastic straws in paper
Just paper straws wrapped in plastic, congratulations
