You eat with a plastic fork at restaurants? Cups and cutlery washed in same dishwaser.

I do not use straws, myself, but try giving one to a 4 year old. It turns into a wad of TP in about 2 minutes. Then, IF you ask the waiter, they bring another, which lasts another 2 minutes. See the pattern? How the hell is that environmentally efficient?

Thank you!!!

And the elderly and infirm.

Only exception is in the car with a cup with a lid.

My local AMC used paper straws on a few of my visits. As you know, they were completely useless. I think I brought my own titanium straw a couple of times.

Soon though, they switched to Biolo straws. They look, feel, and work just like regular plastic straws, but claim to be biodegradable.

quote:

BIOLO compostable straws are made from a renewable plant-based plastic alternative, known as polyhydroxyalkanoate, or PHA, that is TÜV-certified for biodegradation in soil, marine, and freshwater environments, as well as in home and industrial composting settings — breaking down in 180 days or less and leaving behind zero microplastics.

Problem (if you thought there was one to begin with) solved.

They wouldnt be nearly as bad if they had one end with a little bit of plastic you put your lips to.... still serves the purpose of eliminating tons of plastic usage, but retaining just enough to make drinking through them bearable.
