Yeah but you didn’t say any of that shite in the post to which I responded.
Yeah, because the things I pointed out are common sense to most people. It's 6th grade civics.

Eh. I mean I get it is offensive, But either we believe in this concept or we don't...
No one is saying free speech should be outlawed, we’re simply looking to get rid of people who think like him and hate what America represents. But you knew that already and are being intentionally dense, so good job I guess.

Isn't this exactly what the founding fathers were saying about great Britain 250 years ago? That the form of government we were subjected to then was unacceptable and needed to end? Didn't they understand that even the most extreme forms of speech needed to be protected? It's the same reason the 2nd amendment exists, that at some point a tyrannical might needed to be overthrow by force.
Now I'm not personally suggesting that the government is evil or that we are being opressed to the point that it needs to be overthrow. But I do recognize the most extreme WHY the first amendment exists and would defend someone's first amendment right to the end. Even when I disagree with the message.
So I'll say it again. Either we believe in freedom of speech, or we don't.

They aren't actually here. So if they went missing, they dont exist.

No. Not even close.

WHAT?!? It's 100% the same!!
The circumstances might be different, but the principle is 100% fundamentally the same.
The Founding Fathers openly argued that the government they lived under had become tyrannical and ultimately advocated taking up arms to overthrow it. From the British government's perspective, its exactly the someone today saying "Death to America."
And it's exactly why the First Amendment exists. They knew what it was like to live under a government that punished dissent, so they enshrined the right to criticize, even radically criticize, the government without fear of censure or prosecution.
I'm not defending the slogan or agreeing with its message. I'm defending the principle that the government doesn't get to decide which political speech is acceptable. If speech is protected only when it's patriotic or popular, then it isn't really free speech.
That's the whole point of the First Amendment.

At this point it would be cheaper for the US to identify these people and send them back to their preferred country than keep them here

Either Congress or the Supremes need to deal with judicial activism by the lower courts, and the Senate also needs to start confirming judges and US attorneys while ignoring blue slips from blue state Senators. I would like to see the numbers being confirmed under do nothing Thune compared to other majority leaders. The Senate shouldn’t be off for the 4th as they have been off for the most part of a year and a half. A McConnell struggling to live would have been as good or maybe even more effective than Thune has been.
