Over. I'm paying more than that in rent.

That’s why I would never rent. Glad I have rental properties though

Many people don't have the liquidity to put 20% so it's probably more like a 250k home with 5-10% down with the PMI added. I imagine many, many people here are around this. We aren't all OT ballers. Just liars.

Or first time home buyers. If you stay in a home 8-9 years, you'll have 20% for your next equivalent, in cost, house. Or you'll have more down for a cheaper house. Then you can come here and brag how you're an ot baller (aka. just an older ot'er).

You live in Lafayette where the median home price per Zillow is $160k. Compare that to Dallas for instance at $399k or the DFW metro at $227k.

Congrats, you can own a house in a cheap arse market.

Over 1443 would be nice. Section 8 pays up to $1300/m for rent here, so housing is higher.

I don't think I would want to live someplace where 200K is a nice house. Means the area is likely a total shithole.

I pay zero for housing. I had a 30 year mortgage that only lasted 12 years because I paid off early.

Payment should be no more than one-fourth of your take-home pay on a 15-year note. This is what I subscribe to. It may not work for all.

Bought a house in 2008 at $179k. Sold in 2018 for $172k. $20k worth of repairs in between.

Over. That's right at what we pay for property taxes. No income tax though so I guess we get some back.

That is not true.

It probably won't be in Phoenix, but I can find a nice place to live in a small to mid-sized city for 200k.

Ours is over...

But my first house was $709 a month back in the 90's... Man I miss those days....

2bdrm 1 bath, during my single days... was perfect.. When I sold it, I made about 50k in profit...

500 sq ft garage I put both boats in...
