Yep, earlier this morning I marked you as having bizarre judgement because you thought Jayden Daniels was reasonable to take legal action to prevent LSU from using his number.

Boomers need the kids to move money into the Ponzi scheme that is the stock market so they can cash out

Do y’all actually think American companies are worth anything?

This is why

quote:

Betterment's survey found social media is now Gen Z's most commonly cited source for financial news, going from 45% in 2024 to 60% in 2026. That is nearly three-times the 21% of Gen Z investors who cited a financial advisor.

They are also using AI

quote:

Gen Z is driving much of that shift, with 48% saying AI has influenced a decision, and Gen Z investors are eight times more likely than Boomers to be comfortable using AI for long-term financial planning, 41% compared to 5%.

How fricking stupid are we getting?

Apparently very stupid if they are moving money from a good investment account to gamble.
I did a sports bet one time. Never would I have considered to use money from investment accounts. wtf.

I’m not Gen Z but yall don’t even realize how much quality of life has fallen for the younger generations

I’m not saying the older generations are squarely to blame but yall should’ve voted harder or protested or something

For instance, in Louisiana, why am I forced to wait in line behind 10 130 pound Indians for a weight bench not to mention the tortas clogging up the squat racks

Yalls parents protested so hard against the destruction of public schools that they had to call the national guard in. Sure it didn’t work but at least they tried and grumbled about it the rest of their lives instead of being smug

Stupid, but also an indictment of the financial markets that many see as no better than a rigged casino.

I don’t think it’s that. People are just really dumb these days.

Sports betting and wealth plans are a contradiction. Just something else for Zoomers to point at someone else and cry about when they don’t get everything they want.

Who gives a frick about a 401k

A buddy and I gamble online for fun. I just keep around $150 in my Draftkings account. Win enough to maintain my balance. Of course, every football weekend, you go for that 11 game $5 parlay to win big.

About 5 years ago, we were using BETUS for online gambling, before Draftkings became legal.. Well, my buddy hit a 12 game parlay winner. Turned $5 into around $12,000.

BETUS was out of the Phillipines. He never saw a cent of that $12,000. They ghosted him in every text and email. Aholes...

Using online gambling as a means of wealth creation for the future is about the dumbest idea I've heard this year.

this poll is based off 250 Gen Z who have at least 2 or more investment accounts.

quote:

An online survey was conducted March 27 to April 3, 2026, with 1,000 U.S. retail investors evenly split across four generations (Gen Z, Millennials, Gen X, Baby Boomers). All respondents held at least one qualifying financial investment (401(k)-only holders were excluded).

15% of of the Gen Z polled said they used sports betting at least once to "accelerate" a goal, meaning they were trying to make quick cash

14% of the Gen Z polled said they "occasional" redirected funds for sports betting

and 11% said they used it as a "high risk" strategy for investments

59% said they either don't bet or use separate funds

This is a small sample size from likely high earners that hold multiple investment accounts already in their 20s.

Also if there is ever a time for more investment risk, its when you are younger

Probably 99% or more of sports bettors lose money over the long run. And, no, having one week where you go 12-8 ATS is not over the long run.

If they prove to be one of the few people who can actually beat the sportsbook over the long run, they'll eventually get banned from the book.
