Just picked up some ACE sedative from my vet - he said it works great for dogs that go crazy during fireworks.

Friendly PSA for dog owners so you're not waking up at midnight to Fido declaring the apocalypse.

Not sure if dogs are like horses but if so watch out. They can blow right through the ace if something really scares them.

I need a new bottle

Stupid Scotty goes through it.

Not worried about my dog, but I hate them waking up my kids in the middle of the night.

I once gave my horse 5cc because I got handed the job of taking the kids up on the levee. It was like he had nothing in his system

That was the last time we tried the levee. Had a hard time keeping him with the group so I wasn’t much of a chaperone

Thank god my current dog gives no shits about fireworks so he does t get anything.

bout all you can do is put them in a room with a TV or radio on semi loud to muffle out the majority of the noise.

thats about all you can do other then have them in your lap petting them at midnight so they know they arent about to die.

when animals hear those noises, im told it sounds many times louder to their ears then to ours

First year that my partying days are over. I can't spend another NYE at a bar with amateurs.

My Border Collie could care less - loud noises don't phase her.

My Aussie hates the noise, mostly because she wants to go out and attack the source. A few years ago, my neighbor's were blasting fireworks in the street and my dog ran out the door heading full speed towards the fireworks. I called her off and she came back. She doesn't like anything untoward in her turf

Desensitize your pussy pets by throwing snap pops at them.

Just turn the TV or some music on and don’t open your windows.
Not that hard.

If you have dogs outside, then bring them inside.

What are owners doing that is telling the dog to be afraid of fireworks?

I've had numerous dogs in my life (growing up and recently) and none of them were afraid of fireworks, gunshots, or thunder. But now I see so many social media posts about people with scared dogs. Dogs are primarily just a refection of your attitude, are they not?

I have my suspicions that owners are sending "I'm worried about this" signals to their pets and that is what is causing the dog to react negatively.
