I've heard things and I'm interested in the OTs stories about this Baton Rouge staple.
Fun times for sure. If you're ok with enjoying the rare night of trashy shenanigans, you'd love Cadillac
Within 10 minutes after arriving one night, my buddy had a late 40's milf begging to meet him in the ladies room for a beej

The overall vibe is desperation.
I like the Caddy Cafe. It can be entertaining as hell sometimes for that exact thing.
But the real question is: Where should someone in their 40s go for a night of dancing and live music in Baton Rouge? Is that behavior frowned upon in general after 40?
B&Ts is often full of kids.
Ringside is trashy as it is pretentious. Only difference from Caddy is the douchebags are wealthy or pretend to be.
The Vineyard... nuff said.
The 'club' in LauBerg is a joke.
There aren't many options and the Cafe has come a long way in rebranding over the last few years. Renovations, Music, and specials on slow nights to name a few. They've also banned smoking, making a patio enclosure for smokers.
It's not as bad as the OP would like to make you believe. But it's Baton Rouge so ....

I'm 40 and run in a crew that goes out 2-3x's a month
Lava Cantina is a favorite of ours but we will also land at the casino, Spanky's, Ice House, Uncle Earl's or B&T's
We have another couple who LOVE going to The Cottage Inn which makes Cadillac look like Mansur's

I've been telling my 40+ friends Lava is what Superior was 15 yrs ago. Good Call.
I like the other places you mention as well. I really like the Icehouse but I'm not out that way much anymore.
And I don't dance or anything. But for the people our age who want to dance, are they SOL if they don't want to go to B&T's b/c of risk of 22 yr old sausage fest?

I have a friend who's a very classy attorney. She used to meet her dad there on occasion for a drink(he's from out there). Last time she met him a few years ago, a fight broke out between two locals and her back windshield was smashed by a bottle thrown during the fight.

Lava is where friends my age go most often for live/drinks. Along with the worse places you mentioned, like L’auberge & vineyard. I’ll admit it’s been a couple years since I’ve been to any of them, so my opinion of them is all outdated.
Is The Cove still open? That was fun for awhile for a laid back place. No dancing, but I never felt old or out of place there.

The Cove is very diverse and I'm sure anyone would fit in there. But no dayncin.
I was specifically talking about 40 yr ole, mostly women, who WANT to dance. Baton Rouge has a good amount of 'grown folks' lounges for lack of better description. Just not many that encourage dancing without drawing the college crowd.
BTW, 3 games at the box this weekend and no 6ft woman saying hello to me. You probably gave your seats to that kid who was smashed in the face Friday Night.
Poor Thing

But... Some nights are better than others.
You just described everything from Wal-Marks to Tiger Stadium

Last time I was in the Cottage Inn the bartender was offering body shots on the house. Literally. You have described it well.

As much shite as I talk about Cadillac, I had fun the few times I went there.
It also motivates me to be a better girlfriend. I don’t want to be one of the stereotypical trying-too-hard 40-something women who are there trying to meet men.

Land or misfits and losers. Someone who goes out a lot once told me, if you don't fit in any where else, you can always go to the Cadillac..

No baseball games last weekend. And I’m still not sure how I’ll explain knowing you. You’ll have “worked with my ex-husband” or something.

Don’t forget about The Station 15-20 years ago. Their dollar beer Thursday night special was awesome.

shite dude, after our wedding reception we invaded B&T's, dancing to the wee hours. Who gives a flying frick what the kindergarteners think? Those bartenders know where the money is gonna be found...

I LOVE the 18 yo wannabe cowboys singing Johnny Cash Karaoke to their very trailer trashed love interest. Then the next song is some fat white girl singing "my pony" to her BBC.
I need to run a FB Live and OT thread the next time we go there
