Milton Womack bought the old Sears building and donated it to BREC.

Think Dept of Revenue is in the old Wilson’s Jewelers building.

I remember when Bon Marche was an open air Shopping Center and the rear had a small enclosed “mini mall.”

Remember the Circle?
The ferry landing?
How about the Kanas City Southern Depot? The Illinois Central Depot?
The Cotton Club, the Common Ground, The Keg, the Bengal and the Tiger?
The Paramount, The Hart?
The Old Governor's Mansion?
The Expressway?
The State Times?
The Cockpit?

the Common Ground,

I’m guessing this s The Cmmon Point you are referencing? Had the hot tub rentals next to it refered to as the Soak and Poke.

I remember Burger Chef, Andrews and Andrews Drug Store, I H Rubenstein’s, Tic Tock, Young Fashion’s, Lumm’s Hot Dogs, Shopper’s Faire, Howard Brothers Discount, Steinbergs, Wade Lemoines Esso at Twin Cedars with TG&Y, which is now Bocage Villlage, Sam Benton Shell, Woodfin Smith Pontiac, Griffon’s Drug Store, Tallawah Lounge, Tiger Lair and Chucks Bar in Tigerland, Mike Anderson’s first place the old grocery store on Highland , Lobianco’s Grocery at Government and Steele Blvd, Calandros On Government in the old Store, Broadmoor Theater, Wesley’s and Broadmoor Barber Shop next door, Bon Marche Twin Theater, Robert E Lee Theater on Plank where I saw Saturday Night Fever on opening night, the Whitehouse Inn and Independence Hall where I saw the Doobie Brothers when I was 11.

I never quite got why they always say new bridge and not just the I-10 bridge. There is only one I-10 bridge in BR.

You are correct. I went back to look at my pictures and it was Dec '77. It was my first real concert so I was amazed at the fire, smoke and sound.

It was actually 1979. My first concert was Queen at the Municipal Auditorium in New Orleans on Halloween night 1978, and my second was KISS at the Centroplex in 1979.
