OT mechanic tools which preferred brand is your go-to tool???

like i DeWalt's reciprocating saw's better than anyothers out there while candy shoopping at HFR (Harbor freight)
But i was just wondering what are your go to brand tools you'll never opuut down in/out or around the house
I'm looking into buying a whole Ryobi mech set if i can help it but am welcomed to more or better ideas for christmas...
you can also list anything particular like small led flashlights to big led flashlights and what brand names then

I have a Ridgid power tool set that came with a drill, impact, and radio. Great set so far have put it through the shite the last 2 years and I also purchased the skill saw for the set as well and it is life changing having a wireless skill saw. Overall great set

If you aren't using said tools for your livelihood then Ryobi is the way to go in my opinion. They wont hold up to working a turnaround but for changing your battery/putting together kids christmas gifts they'll be fine

I prefer Snap On but Matco will do in a pinch.

Hand tools - I have really enjoyed my Craftsman Professional set
Power tools - I stick with Milwaukee for cordless and whoever makes the best of what I need for corded

Power Tools - I have a mish mash of Dewalt, Makita, Bosch
I was given a Ryobi set for xmas last year and it's good small jobs around the house. It's lightweght and so the same size voltage battery with a Dewalt will last longer and drive faster and harder.

This for sure in 20V. Son uses his every day on the job.
Hand tools, Craftsman are a good for the home. Life time tools at that. Sears is fixing to sell off that brand and Ace Hardware should be buying them. They sell them now.

Proto before Stanley bought them you mean. I have a mix of old USA made Craftsman and Stanley wrenches and sockets mostly but also have tools from MAC, Proto, Tekton, Genius, Knipex, Channel Lock, and others. I look for deals on used tools and factory seconds and I now research who actually makes the tools vs the name stamped on it. Toptul makes a lot of stuff for other brands, you might want to pay attention to the badge engineering rather than just blindly opening your wallet for a specific name brand.

Cordlesstools- DeWalt...... don't buy from the big boxes slows and homer depot they're cheaper because they're made with cheaper parts...go to a local hardware store

Wrenchs and such mainly craftsman
As far as led lights or flash lights NEBO makes some good ones...

Stanley/Black and Decker owns Dewalt and Porter Cable.
And mentioning a flashlight I like the Streamlights

Forgot about small flashlights. Fenix, Streamlight, Thrunite, etc are all good brands. Rayovac for cheaper stuff. I usually get flashlights from Battery Junction.
