Not having practiced here I don't know the laws BUT LA has the highest rate of settlements/verdicts in the US. They also have the highest per-capita payout as well as the highest rate of filings per capita. When I was in plaintiffs firm we always joked we should figure out Napoleonic code and move. So if what you say is true LA has arguably the worst healthcare in the US.
Link? (Not in the assholey way), but I'd be interested to see those stats and what they're based on. Most of my practice is med mal, but I've only practiced in LA so I have no basis of comparison - except for Texas, as I've worked a couple of cases there. For all it's faults, LA's system is not nearly as bad as Texas for a plaintiff. But still, an estimate on the first page was right - I'll review maybe 25 or 30 cases for each one we'll actually take to a panel.

Something is wrong with him. He walks a lot different and doesn't look good at all.

He pretty much was chosen by God to be the peoples personal injury lawyer and bring justice to the masses.

I understand you have the review panels (which is good) and it does help explain the per suit/settlement payouts being rather high it seems almost counter-intuitive when faced with the fact LA leads the nation in per capita settlements/won suits. That stat leads one to either LA providers make more errors or LA citizens are more likely to pursue actual errors or some combination of the two.

The medical malpractice limit is $500k. I don't know about you but that's nothing if doctor actually ruined my life. That's 4 years of income...

Shitty doctors flock to cap states lies flies to shite. There are a couple of things moving through the legislature to address that, good doctors are sick of paying for the bad ones.

fairly certain the Patient Compensation Fund in LA goes higher than 500k

I know the 1st 100k is covered by private insurance, then the state kicks in

It does not. Provider has the first 100, the PCF kicks in additional amount up to a grand total of 500.
