He needs to take a hard look at Matthew 19:24

Kenny Hooks with Dodson & Hooks

Bob Schmolke

*ETA: I do not work for either and have no current cases with either. Anything related to personal injury in BR I recommend them

fairly certain the Patient Compensation Fund in LA goes higher than 500k

I know the 1st 100k is covered by private insurance, then the state kicks in

It does not. Provider has the first 100, the PCF kicks in additional amount up to a grand total of 500.

Future meds, broseph, future meds are on top of the $500K cap

This, you'll be his only client and he'll work hard for you trying to get back on his feet.

Sure, which basically works like a complicated credit card - not really money you can put in your pocket or use to help pay bills - and most of the patients receiving this are Medicare/caid or privately insured anyhow, so it's only a different form of insurance that they would have been getting anyhow.

the PCF, which is responsible for the future meds, will settle them for extra money. Prolly not the best idea, except for your lawyer who is taking a fee on them.

Here are a couple of links with good information in them for you to read. I requested every document pertaining to my husbands death and poured over them trying to figure out what happened and how he died four days after surgery. I'm a pretty realistic person and had some knowledge of the laws pertaining to malpractice. I took the documents to a lawyer in BR who we knew and had used prior, so I trusted him enough for the information I needed. He called to tell me there was no way he could take the case, because they were in one way or another clients of the firm or acquaintances of the firm. Hell, they all tailgate together. He said no attorney in BR would ever take a case against these BR doctors. He reached out to colleagues in NO and they would not take the case. One of the reasons was money or paying for expert witness testimony. The expert witness testimony will break you and that is what they are banking on. If you read just a couple of cases online you can see what they do. They also handpick the review panel, which are all doctors for you to go in front of. My attorney did offer to start the procedure for me to at least file a complaint, which i did not do. The firm I went to was referred in an earlier post.
