It's theirs until they break your water main during random road work. Then they say it's yours.
This happened to me. $700 water bill later after it sent a nice flowing stream down the street. We were gone all day.

Well then in that guy's defense he did just pay to have his whole yard, including the space in between the sidewalk and street, re-sodded.

Eta. My mistake. Appears Wayne did buy that corner house on Bocage and McCarrol.

And this fricker is taping off his property at the street line.
You live in Bocage and you're worried about the guy with the nice house putting tape out to keep people from rutting up his yard? Damnit man, get a grip! The dude just had his whole yard re sodded and landscaped last week complete with all new shrubbery . Probably spent a fortune.

Yes baw. That is what this thread, started on the last page, is about.

Ahh context. OP makes guy look like a douche and conviently forgets to mention the guy dropped a few thousand on sod and is protecting his yard from assholes who think they deserve to ruin it.
Also, by the property line and picture, he does own up to the sidewalk and maybe even more.

I assumed the landscaping company did that because he just had his lawn resoded and the lighting redone.

Who mows the strip of grass?
If he mows and maintains it then frick off and keep your in-laws and rug rats off it.

I live on St Paddy’s day route and I tape off my yard. Other wise people would be setting up tents and parking all over the place.
I’m guessing the guy tapes off his yard because some a-hole gave him a reason to in the past.

I don’t know about where you live but in Madison county Al I pay property tax to the center line of the road. The county has a right of way beside the road but the public does not.
Even places like New York City the property owner is responsible for installing and maintains the sidewalks because they are on their property.

From the sidewalk to the street, it is public ROW. The problem is that it is “understood” that the home owner up keeps that portion of grass.
I do not doubt that the guy is a douche, but i would not want to have to pay for any potential repairs either.....IF this parade gets that crowded/rowdy. For the record, i would not tape off my yard. I would be outside watching things.

Worrying about what your magnum-cocked neighbor does with that slice of land is trashy, yes.

We post up at City Park on some prime public greenspace. Every year the same 5-6 large groups/families tape off their areas the night before.
It's worked out good as we all stick to our same spots going on 6 yrs now. But some newb family is gonna come frick it up one year b/c it's all public space and nobody can say shite without a permit from BREC.

Yeah but it depends on a lot of things. If you’re fronting a major road, it depends on how the land for the road was acquired by the state and actually depends on the year it was acquired too. If it’s in a master planned subdivision, the info is usually contained in the phase maps filed in the clerks office.

It's the homeowner's property to the street with a servitude between the sidewalk and street. I'd tape that shite off too if people were parking on my grass.

We have no grass strip... sidewalk adjacent to curb. I had to pay for sidewalk, so I say it’s mine, and property goes to curb. The street is a private drive in an HOA, though.
