It’s not for BR, too many people want to open one up, so many have failed.

If it wasn’t for pint night the Bulldog would be in trouble.

Corporate Brew, Draft House just off the top of my head.

Rotolo’s opened one recently off Burbank called “craft and crust”. Place is a ghost town the majority of the time.

Baton Rouge does not have nearly enough "brewpub" patrons to support more than 2 or 3 in the city

The whole change to a "Family style dining" puzzled me. Mainly because it came out of left field and seemed like a misguided pitch at saving a place that was sinking faster than expected.
It took them too long to realize that they were worse than the Bulldog in every way and were never going to catch up to them. Trying to transition to a family restaurant after being a mediocre craft beer bar for 4 years was too little, too late.

Didn't draft house become The Bengal Taproom? Also, while I'm not the biggest fan of Corporate Brew & Draft. The whole "This isn't for BR" argument needs to be squashed.

He lost a ton of the craft beer drinkers after that "meet the Brewers" fiasco.

Hopefully this is a sign that times are changing and that you can go to a bar and order a regular beer again instead of hipster crap

GTFO with that bullshite. Bot of those may be "chains" to you but I grew up eating at the originals and they are anything but to me.
I understand as a Baton Rouge native that you want your love of chains to just be a big lie, but you fell in love with a chain before it was a chain. It's like you people are attracted to the smell of franchising.
Search your hearts. You know it to be true.

BR needs some casual places that would be good enough for Guy/DDD to come do a segment on.....Do we have some that I'm missing?

It was the one where everyone and their mother thought they were going to a beer tasting (even the breweries), bought tickets, and then you find out it was to pay for a joint dinner but you had to buy your own beers. It was weird, horrendously advertised, and if I remember correctly a employee even started going after people on the Food Board.
Ha you're right, I forgot about the painting naked chick.

I think I am supposed to be the market audience for them and if I didn’t pass that area every day, I would have no idea that they existed.
They are surrounded by poor/cheap college kids, and are offering a premium product aimed more towards recent graduates and 24-35 market. They would have been better suited opening that in mid-city or towne center.
I ordered a medium pizza from there the other day with two toppings and it was $20. frick that noise.

Well my company is on the corner of College and Corporate so that is my frame of reference I suppose

fricking lol.
ill bet that any bar owner in BR would gladly swap places with the owners of the Bulldog and their clientele/business.
If the Bulldog would get their head out of their asses and lower the costs of the food, they would get even more business.

Not a single one.
Which is pretty lame, really.
