“OT Baller” Selective bias vs liars

Topic such as “do you make more than 100k, do you have a 1 million net worth, can you dunk a basketball, can you bench 300 pounds, are you 6’2” plus, did you make a 30+ on you ACT” seem to be indicators of an “OT baller”.
While all of these attributes are not likely with one person, when you have 1000+ people on a message board responding, it has a selective bias that cannot be understated. In other words, someone who benches 135 as a max will not respond to the bench press thread, but 20-30 out of 1000 or so who benches that will respond. The same thing with the million dollar net worth. The Vinn diagram of all of these accomplishments might be one person at the most, which is the “prototypical OT baller”.
I really don’t think that people bullshite too much on these topics.

Agreed. That's why I post in all those threads.
Also I run a 4.3 40

I truly think there’s actually more honesty than folks want to believe.
ETA: and realize there’s a very large bitter contingent plus just punk kids.

I know somebody that didn't score a 30+ on the ACT.

I come home everyday to a bed full of white bitches.
And then I make them stand there so I can jack off to them.

His name is GRTiger. He checks every baller box.

I think that it's to the largest degree selection bias, then to a lesser degree people joking around, and then there are some people lying because their egos are boosted by imaginary e-cred. It's a mixture, but I do agree selection bias is the biggest factor.

I scored a 32 on my ACT in order to make 1 million a year while being 6'3" and benching 265 easily. I was also a star athlete who ran a 4.4 40 but wanted to party at LSU instead of the scholarship I had to Yale.

There are thousands of successful professionals on this board living all over the country. It's not that far fetched that we have a bunch of posters who make a lot of money and did well on standardized tests. Now, I could see the height thing being bullshite.
