3 wasp stings on an earlobe. My lobe crusted over and looked like it was rotting off.

Tell us how you exacted your revenge on your buddy.

Elongated twig ant is probably the worst. Initial bite isn't the worst, like putting out a cigarette or something... but those frickers cause me to swell up like none other.

We were skiing in Bayou Texar off Pensacola Bay and a jellyfish got in my ski jacket when I fell. Literally had blisters on my chest and then wounds for a few a weeks after that. Liquid courage prevented too much pain that day but I hurt for a week after that.

I roofed houses while working my way through college. We were working on an old church that had slate shingles previously. There was this small area that was used as storage room that was below the main roof. I was sweeping it off, bumped the gutter, and proceeded to get hit in the calf by three times by a red wasp. I didn't know what else to do and going down the ladder didn't seem fast enough so I just jumped off. It may have been 9-10 foot off the ground, but I hit and rolled and took off running. Calf swelled almost double.

Second worst event was during a scramble golf tournament. We had just missed the green and the group was standing around watching each other chip. I stepped back to get a good look at the line and must have gotten close to a yellow jacket nest. I got hit 4 times on the ankles. That hurt for about 10 minutes, burned for another 2 hours and that was it.

Was hunting one time and I had a red velvet ant crawl across the bar on the front of my stand. Didn't know what to do, but pulled my knife and chopped it in half.

Single sting - Red Wasp to the back of the head at juncture with neck (bone top of neck at juncture with skull)...hurt like a SOB and had a headache for a couple of days.

Multiple Yellow Jacket stings to the face as a boy...both eyes were swollen shut. I just remember not being able to see.

Cow ant or red velvet ant. That thing is really a wasp. Picked one up when I was a kid. School of hard knocks is a cruel teacher sometimes.

The really big red wasps are a close second.

Wish I could say I stepped on the velvet ant but my curious dumb arse picked it up when I was 9 years old. Hit like a hammer and was very painful for a long time. Red Paper wasp sting on neck while sleeping in car on trip got a trip to the emergency room when I was 6 yrs old. Fun Times! Great Memories.
