re: Debridement. Ever had it done?
Posted by SWLATiger on 7/18/25 at 8:04 am to DustyDinkleman
Yep, I sustained a serious burn to my hand in college...I thought the treatment of soaking my hand in a clorox whirlpool bath and then debriding the wound was horrible. Then they put a whole body burn victim in the clorox bath tank next to me...he would scream until he passed out, that kinda put my hand wound into perspective. I did ask to move my appointments to the days when he did not need treatment....

So besides you and Flats, who else drives a ridgeline?
In all honesty, I’d buy a ridgeline before the new Tacoma.
I've got one and would replace it with another one if it was stolen or totaled. Excellent vehicle.

I'm a big fan of the Ridgeline and it sounds perfect for the needs you described. Comfortable, efficient, capable, reliable, roomy, fairly reasonably priced, etc. Look for a CPO or used one for even a better deal.

I'm a fan of my Honda Ridgeline...perfect truck if you do not do heavy off road or tow more than 5,000#. Comfortable, efficient, quiet, roomy, high level build quality, well equipped and, in this day and age, fairly reasonably priced.
Thanks for the info, just placed an order...my wife's earbuds recently died...
Give the Ecoxgear Defender a look/listen. It has far better sound quality and battery life than the Gen2 Turtlebox, can't say how it compares to a Gen3.

An angle grinder and 10 minutes on the side of the safe and you're in...

Bought a CPO 2023 Ridgeline RTL with 3500 miles in September 2024 for $33K...steal of a deal and a great vehicle. I've driven full size trucks for years then switched to a Tacoma. Tacoma was a good vehicle but was slow, thirsty and rode rough. Ridgeline has smooth V6 power, decent economy and rides great. Not as capable as a body on frame truck but plenty capable for me!

Black Eye Pea Jambalaya
1# good smoked sausage, sliced thin and browned
1 can of undrained Trappey's black eye peas with jalapeno
i can of Campbell's beef broth, use it to wash out pea can
1-1.5 cups uncooked rice
1/2 stick of butter cut into pats
1 onion diced
1 bell pepper diced
1 small can of drained sliced mushrooms
3-4 stalks of green onion
3-4 cloves garlic
2-3 dashes of hot sauce
salt, pepper and red pepper to taste
Brown sausage, add everything to rice cooker and give it a stir, cover and cook. When cooked leave cover on rice pot and let it steam for 10-15 minutes.
I've also added left over diced grilled chicken or pork to rice cooker.
Good 1 pot supper with a salad or serve as a side dish.

My wife (no pics) drives a Kia Sorento SX Prestige x-Line - top of the line with all the bells and whistles and loves it. My sister drives a Mazda CX-90. they are both excellent vehicles. Both have third rows that fold for greater cargo area. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend either.
re: How bad was State Farm the last few years
Posted by SWLATiger on 9/21/23 at 6:57 am to Gee Grenouille
They're not the company they were before. I never thought I'd sue my insurer but did with regard to two homes where they grossly underpaid the claims. I have settled one claim and the second is pending. Ridiculous that the claims process has devolved to this point. I think they underpaid with the anticipation many would not pursue legal action. I had to convince my family members to file suit. Had to actually demonstrate the extent of underpayment before they would agree to do so. In both instances State Farm paid about 35-40% of the actual cost of repair. In the future, if they do not change their claims practices, I will not hesitate to immediately pursue legal action.

Lightweight Remington 870 20 gauge.
Maybe look at practicing a different area of law...government work? Or maybe look at work as a financial advisor?
PK Grill, all aluminum will last forever. Only shortcomings, original capsule is a bit small and the cart is too short. They have some newer models that address these issues.
re: Totaled vehicle, what happens next?

make sure they pay you for the value of the vehicle + tax title and license....you've already paid that once and would not have incurred it a second time except the vehicle was totaled.
I wonder how much her first class virtual participation is gonna cost?
